We are here in the new year of 2012!!!
Sweet!
Things are a changing and so are we........so if you notice some things here and there and even over there, be assured that I am fully aware of it and it was meant to be :)

Changes are great! And they let me grow as an artist and designer and will eventually change again sometime in the future. I hope you'll stick with me through this exciting time and be patient as these amazing things reveal themselves :)

(Yes, I'm that good) so if it sells, great, I'll have camera money (more like pay off debt money...sigh). And if not, I'll still have it to do little jobs that it does pretty well.

I dislike leftovers....and I just posted a leftover sale on facebook.......so go buy stuff, it's cheap and if you are smart you will ask for a freebie too because I want this stuff out of my house, and I will most likely just fill up your package with stuff I need gone. So ask away ;)

On another note for those of you who read my blog (even though I rarely update it or take the time and energy to actually post pics (it's a hassle!!)) I will inform you that those who made purchases in September and October will be put into a giveaway drawing for holiday freebies!!!!

Just a few more tops, just a few more tops.
This is what I keep telling myself in anticipation of launching our "Under the Moon" fall line.
August 1st is the day! I will have 10 sets available as both customs and have the sample sets available on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to pop in then!
.This line is adorned with owls....and moons...and I may offer up some past designs to include as special limited customs. And yeah, we'll stick with the owls ;)

"Escape to Fairyland" will be launching soon after when it is completed and will have customs, ooaks, and sample sets available. This line revolves around Michael Miller knit prints and denim. Fairies too of course!
Hoping to have this line ready on or before the 15th.

Remember our awesome Super OOAK Custom Sale....I'm wanting to fit one of those in for August as well, so you all can snag some very affordable designs just before school begins! How great is it to get some amazing ShadowDragon Dreams designs for an excellent first day of school!
This sale will be with my summer fabric stash that I either never had time to get to or leftovers from my past designs that I'm not planning on using for Halloween or Christmas.
But I am pretty sure there will be some gorgeous prints you will love to have something made with! I will keep the facebook page posted on when I can fit this sale in.

Halloween will be short and sweet, as for some reason, these fabric companies are lacking in the Halloween creative print design. I do have a few sets planned, but other than the sample sale, customs will be limited. I will be accepting any custom orders though for sets or costumes. Now, let's mention October...we LOVE October! Because October means the party will be starting for the Holiday Bash!

I haven't even started on them yet like I've been wanting to, except for drawing them out, lol. But I will have them ready to launch October 1st or very close to it! I am planning at least 3 lines for Christmas, BUT I'd rather launch them all together so you can choose what you want then, and I won't have to worry about fabric shortages later on in the year.
Yes, we will have GRINCH designs! Heck yeah! We will have gingerbread men and candy! We will have stockings and trees too!
AND.... if the world is kind to me, I would love to invite you all to the ShadowDragon Dreams 2011 Holiday Ball.
Think DISNEY. Think PRINCESSES. Think PIXAR and DREAMWORKS. Think anything that revolves around a huge party where all the amazing children's characters would attend.
This totally depends on my time availability to get these items made...and depending on that one thing, it will determine whether these items will be OOAK only, or limited custom sets....or unlimited. I can't do everything in a timely manner when I have 30 orders pending, but I will most certainly try my best! Because you all are the BEST CUSTOMERS IN THE WORLD!

Oh...and when my page reaches 600 fans, we are so going to have a giveaway, because nothing makes me happier than sharing my gifts with you :)

News from the underground!

I spent the last week working on 24 skirts! Whoo! And I got them completed in a timely manner too btw!
A lot sooner than I thought, but believe me, when I was making them I wasn't such a happy person, lol.
But alas, they are finished and will be shipping out in a big 10lb box tomorrow.
Good news, because today I spent a few hours putting together a few more "Under the Moon" items!!
Which includes a denim skirt with tulle, a patchwork skirt, and an adorable dress!!!
Love them all and I hope you will too! Can't wait till launch day to share them all with you guys!

I do still have a few tops to make to match those skirts, and due to my incredibly talented helper, all of them are made and ready for me!! I'm so happy!!
Of course, me being a extremely busy person, I didn't get a chance to pick up the shirts yet, but I will this week for sure, and I will have them all finished by next weekend! (I hope!)

Now I am expecting another box in the mail tomorrow that is holding my other extremely large order that I need to fill, but I am pretty sure there will be a way to complete my own design line AND my new 'job'. It'll all work out.
Though I am 100% sure it will not be a wonderful expedition until it's all finished :) then we can enjoy the work since it'll be done, haha.

Monday...Here I come!

Monday
That is the day we start work on our "Under the Moon" fall line.
Glorious Monday.
We shall have fun with it and create some unique sets!
Some will be OOAK only and some will be available for LIMITED customs.
And of course I will be sharing some awesome preview sneak peeks too!! What fun would it be if I couldn't mess with my most excellent fans :)
So sneak peeks, OOAKs, Customs, ....maybe some super sale snag and grab deals, and maybe,...just maybe we can throw in a fun giveaway to ramp up some energy!Because we all know that is fun to just win stuff for FREE!!!
And I love giving it away too! Yippee!

So "Under the Moon" will be in the works starting Monday (which is also the same time we start back up our homeschool again too) and...well, the same day I go off to Roller Derby practice (for the second time, lol) That calls for a very busy Monday, but we will make it work!
Wish me luck!

Now for other news... once the first line is done, I'm hoping to get our second fall line "Escape to Fairyland" underway. Of course I still need to design some cute fairy appliques, but we shall get there. This line will be samples and customs only. I really want to use up the knits I have and this line will work perfect for what I have on hand. But I can only make what I have fabric for, so there may be a limit on customs. I'll keep you all updated.

And I get to make a handful of skirts for another great boutique, which should keep me from getting into trouble by shopping for more fabric!!
By the end of the month though, Halloween will be in process. OOAK's galore and a few customs. Then if I ever see the light of day again from underneath those launches Holiday designs begin....and frankly will never end until Thanksgiving...maybe. But most likely I'll be non-stop until the 2nd week of December. But that is OK....because I'm going to buy a new dslr camera set for my Christmas present....cause next year, I'm going to be a photographer too. Got to add that to my life's resume.

Halloween, I'm planning on a few sets, though I'm not sure of customs until I get a response from the samples first. (oohhh, but I won't be doing the customs...my employees will Whoo hoo!!!) so order away.

Christmas...lots of goodies in store....still in planning process, but there will definitely be something you love, if not all of it ;)

Well....I've been thinking.
More like I've been thinking again, since I keep returning to the thought all the time! (for a year or two, btw.)
The thought...is....
I am to the point where I no longer want to work on custom sets any longer.

Now, this does not mean I will not have something you want! On the contrary, I may have plenty you want, probably more so that the usual. And this also does not mean I will not have something just like another ready to ship in your size. I in fact will have your size. In fact it may look similar to or exactly like the first picture you saw. So you are not left out. Nope, not at all.
The point is, I can make outfits much better, much awesomer, much bodaciously cooler than ever....so long as I work at my own pace, without having to fill this order and that order, and those, oh, and that one to.

And this means, a no waiting period, unless you need it altered a bit (like the waist taken in a bit, or something easy) and really now, waiting 1 day is not as bad as having to wait 3 weeks when I am booked to the ceiling with orders ahead of yours.

I have given up my time and energy (and sanity) to fill orders in a timely manner, but I would rather make them all first, then you decide what you want to pay for them. I really hate sewing when I 'HAVE TO' do it (because it's been paid for.)
I love sewing when I can just create, I 'WANT TO' do it then.
It's most likely that what I create when I'm feeling free and happy will be by far more outstanding than any custom set I have offered before (except for that Mrs. Pacman set, I wanted to make that for so long! So it was one of my free loving sets!)
Not only will you get a set now, not only will you get it at a nice price, but I think adding some fun and pizazz to my orders will make you want to come back again and again. Not only because of quality boutique clothing, but because free loving sets bring out happiness in all of us. Me for making it without stress, you for getting it at a great price, and your adorable kids for getting to enjoy every bit of uniqueness that each set will embrace.

I still think I will be able to do some of my fabric destash OOAK Custom Sales, as those are usually small items I can make rather quickly, and I know you all love the pricing on those ;)
Possibly occasionally when times are slow I will have limited windows for ordering a custom set of any previous design (that I can offer a custom on) but the orders will have to be limited to 5-10 depending on the designs. And the pricing will be more than what the original premade set was. As you would be paying for more material, my time, and my sanity as well.
That probably sounds mean, but I want to be able to offer every part of me that can create for you, and when I get too much on my plate, I feel we all are getting jipped. I lose time, my family loses time with me, you lose since you will not be getting my happiness, and in turn the outfit loses because I made it without love. I think each design should have love. So it can bring love and happiness to me and you and your precious kids.

Now, what do I mean by a price you want?
Here's how I am planning on it working out, though please don;t hold me to it, it's only a thought right now.
When I post an outfit or item, I will list it at what I think it may be worth as far as materials and time making it. Whoever agrees to that price will get it. If it doesn't sell within a certain TBD time, I will lower the price or takes bids on it. If it still doesn't sell, I will post it on Etsy for the a little more than original price. I want to give my facebook buds first dibs and even better deals, so this plan may work out. We shall see.

Anyway, if you are in need of a custom set (one you need for something that I haven't ever made) I would still be interested to make it for you, as I like making new sets rather than remaking old sets!

Also, I am not sure if it would be financially wise to have premade ooak sets modeled, unless I can get it done locally, since I'll be losing out time and money, and outfits, so I hope my poor mannequin will suffice on most items. I do still plan on modeling a few of the sets that I will have multiple sizes available on though (mainly fall and holiday sets....maybe) just depends how it all works out by the time I have them made up.
I hope having it just pictured will not make you think it is any less quality than a modeled set. Just that I lose shipping costs and a whole set each time I send out sets to be modeled, not to mention a few times I have to wait weeks for pics, or worse when the model moms don't return sets afterward they didn't pay for or return them 3 months later....it really pisses me off. I have a few really great models and moms who do outstanding work and are a pleasure to work with though, but I think sticking with them far outweighs finding more to fill in the gaps like I would need to do if I were just going to do customs again.

Yeah, sorry for my rant, just want you all to know I love doing business with you all, but I need to change up how I do it, so we all get the better end of the stick!

Well, here we are, it's February 1st! And I'm here once again to share some exciting updates!!!
If you haven't already heard, ShadowDragon Dreams is going through a major overhaul! This includes new amazing designs for your little princess and soon to include your little princes as well! And not only them, but even for you too, and your home, and your hobbies, lol. Yeah some serious overhauling is happinin'!!!

Beginning this spring we will be launching a whole design line for your enjoyment. Most items will be premade and ready to ship out! Though I will also have limited customs available as well! Tops, bottoms, dresses, leggings, bows, headbands, flower clips, toys, artwork, and if I can fit it in we will have children's room decor as well!
But that's not all, this will only be the spring and summer line ;) and after that get ready for the Princess' Escape to Fairyland, you will not want to miss out on this!!! Pettis, fairy wings, tutus, dresses, Disney, more bows, more flowers, more bling, more...more....well, you'll just need to stick around and see :)
YES, and you won't want to miss the amazing prices, these items will be sure to sell out fast!!!! Pettis for $20, Fairy wings for $10 WHAT!!?? Yes I'm crazy, but 'crazy' is beautiful :)

Hahaha!!! So exciting!
I've just spent the last week slowly preparing for my BIG BIG project!!
I feel like one of those evil schemers in the cartoons who rub there hands together laughing menacingly...MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
BIG BIG plans are in the works for the future of ShadowDragon Dreams....and a possible new name?!! Maybe :)

I can't wait to get started on everything! There's going to be something for everyone! Awesome new sets, pieces, hair bows, and other boutique fun stuff! You are not going to want to miss this!
We'll be having giveaways, games, prizes, and adorable sets for this spring/summer and BIG BIG news for the rest of the year so long as everything cooperates with my BIG BIG plans!!

And best of all, everything will still be affordable! I'd never leave you guys in the dust by raising prices to ridiculous boutique prices, I want you to love my stuff and the prices too :)
And if ever you see something that is no longer at a sale price, don't hesitate to email me and ask for it cheaper ;) just be fair....because sometimes when it's $50 and some person asks to pay $10, it's really disrespectful...the materials alone cost more than that, and my time is as precious as yours. Lalaloopsy

Having a 9 year old daughter who cringes at the thought of 'dolls' really is no help to me. Dragons, wolves, and other man eating creature, yes, she's all for it, but dolls...not a chance.

So there are these doll called Lalaloopsy dolls. I think they are adorable (and if I ever had another little girl to spoil, she would certainly have them all.) Anyway, me being at the tail end of the famous toy train, I figured I might just make a set or 2 of lalaloopsy.

Now what bothers me is that, all the other designers already beat me to it like 6 months ago, lol. Yeah, and I just recently looked into them, and I hate the fact that I'm slow at getting info....but anyway.....

I've talked myself into making 2 sets....and that's it. Yeah, so I will get them modeled and resell the modeled sets, but of course I will take customs as well for a very very very limited time.
Maybe only offering a few customs each, so I'm hoping they'll sell quickly ;)

But since I really like having fun and playing games with my great customers.....I will be taking pre-orders on these sets now until Christmas day. All you have to do to reserve a set is email me at landofjas@yahoo.com.
You are free to change your mind later of course, in case you don't like it :( but I want to give my bestest customers first dibs.

In your email post "Lala Reserve" in the title so I don't accidentally delete it.
When the sets are completed and modeled you will get an email with the pictures before I even post them on facebook!! LOL! How fun would that be and you will be able to order them at a discount ;)

End of the year update!

I can't even begin to tell you how hectic it has been over the past month and a half! Orders out the ying yang! But don't get me wrong, I love having orders, just I really miss time, like time with my kids, family, relaxing, sleep, you know, those sort of things that are under pressure while I'm sewing because 'it has to be mailed out by Monday' sort of things!

I did still manage to get the homeschooling done, although I would bet they had a very smooth sailing month in November! The house managed to at least retain the ability to be walked through (with the exception of my sewing room). And I didn't miss an episode of Survivor (which is quite amazing!).

But now, it's December, all my orders are completed and I'm on the mindset to avoid any oncoming custom requests until January. Things are going great.

I have all but my son's bedroom cleaned thus far. Me and my houseplants had a fun spa session yesterday, so now instead of drooping and looking depressed, they are finally watered and primped. I'm sorry little guys, I know you you've been through worse ;)

My sewing room is immaculate, and I'm working on getting a new cabinet and counter to go in there!! I tried my hand at bread making...the rolls came out fine, but the loaves...hmmm well, Nature's Own Premium Bread now has a lifelong friend. And I feel like painting, which is great, because I have this painting I started about 2 years ago for my hubby (and it's still not finished) so looks like I will be able to get that hopefully of my to do list by the end of the year.

So tomorrow will be shopping, next weekend, Christmas, the next weekend I'll be going to a wedding...then and only then.......the good stuff!!!!

So what exactly is the good stuff??

Well, let's see what's in the news...
Besides the fact I'm right in the middle of making a custom dress, I'm in the process of packing and organizing before I leave on vacation. Just seems it takes twice as long to prepare than it used to...why?!
Used to be possible to pack and prepare within a few hours and now it takes about 2 days, lol.
Maybe I'm just getting slow, or lazy, or my mind is assuming some of these preparations are important, I don't know.

So it's starting to look like that the one dress I'm working on will have to wait till I get back unfortunately, that is unless tomorrow ends up being super productive and everything easily goes together without trouble. (hey, but what fun would that be!)

Otherwise when I get back, I first thought I'd start on fall and back to school sets, but I'm afraid I will be extending my absence. I will still sew...at leisure and probably be able to make some ooak sets, but I will not have any customs besides The Beatles set I will have when it gets made that is :)
We will be tearing out the roof of part of our living room, so that will need more attention, and then we are redoing the front porch too, along with other misc. projects I'm tired of delaying (after all the wood is sitting in the front yard now and we can't have that!

Where to start...

Let's use the most commonly used word in my vocabulary as of last week... BUSY!!

More like extremely busy, it's almost like filling Christmas orders...totally insane.
But I do love it :)

As for plans...sewing, sewing, and more sewing until I get these orders shipped and out the door...then making a few more that I haven't anticipated yet...it's all good :)

June will come and things will slow down, then mid June I leave to VA (so no sewing then, lol!) then July I'm sure there will be plenty of days lying in the sun and slowing putting together some back to school sets :)!!!

Though the house projects will have to be fit in that schedule somewhere too, along with summer time fun as well :)

Yeah, I know I should post more frequently....but after checking and replying to emails and browsing through my facebook and ebay groups, I always realize that I should be doing something productive and really just want to get off the computer.
Heck just the other day I wasted a few hours browsing through craigslist....mostly for items for our house since we are still in the process of finishing it...yes still. It's been about 5 years, but we now have 3 bedrooms and upstairs, new bathroom, a patio and real green stuff growing in the yard. Well, the new bathroom isn't done but it serves a really great use of being the tool storage area at the moment. Even found a free vanity cabinet that hubby picked up for me...just waiting to find that free or really cheap free standing tub and shower unit....I can wait if it means I don't have to buy one for the stupid amount of money the stores (and even the building salvage yards) are wanting! We can use the little bathroom....which I spent the last week and half making look better..
I plastered and painted and put up some cheap tile board stuff to cover the ugliness, bought a new toilet that's proved itself already that it will save us about $10 a month and new accessories for the towels and toilet paper. Still need to finish the shower and get a new curtain, but you see that I am here not working on that, and even if I wasn't I'd be sewing to finish up the orders I should be working on...lol
I have time ;) and there's always tomorrow...except for the fact it's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow and super warm and I will most likely spend the day outside until the sun goes behind the trees and shade takes over the yard.
If I happen to be inside that only means we are either doing schoolwork or I'm feeding the wolf that hangs around, or feeding the crows that come by and eat what the wolf (we named him Kiba, off of Wolf's Rain) left behind. They won't come in the yard if we are outside....too skiddish unfortunately.
Finally managed to repaint the dining room wall (again) and I do believe I will keep the color this time around....it was only the 4th time painting these walls!!....and can you guess what caused me to do it....fabric...yes fabric.....see I have this stool, it was ugly dark green and had a torn leather top, so in an effort to make it happy I made a new cushion for it with some happy bright fabric that complimented my bright red kitchen cabinets! and painted the legs...well, I liked it so I painted the dining room that color...and my plant shelf that is in my kitchen...kinda really works together, I like it....

Okay so it is (was) really my Mom's stool, but so is the tv technically and we had it for about 12 years soooo...you know it goes :)
Still need to finish the dining room with the trim and baseboards (not to mention we are tearing out the whole front wall!!! and replacing whats there with French Doors and new windows) and the fact that this is a homeschooling home and there are school books and papers and folders all over the dining room table, lol...I'm too embarrassed to share a pic...it'll at least have to wait till I clean it...maybe next week, lol.

I wrote some in my book too, so I'm almost done with chapter 10 Whoo Hoo!!...just 20 more chapters to go :)

So anyway, other than all that rambling mess, I'm glad to say that our wood we ordered from the sawmill is finished...which means we can do some destruction soon!! Yay, I love tearing things down so I can build them like I want them :) !!! A new ceiling, a new porch, real wood on the stairs, and finally some molding/trim upstairs...this house will get finished one day, the only problem is once I get my hands on 50 or more acres I'll be outta here in a heartbeat! I'm so gonna dig up all my plants and take them with me though, lol. They're my babies and hopefully by that time Kiba will not be so terribly shy around us and he can come with us to live in the middle of nowhere and watch us build another domain! I'm thinking castle...or if we happen to be poor, I'll take a tree house, so long as the mailman can deliver my fabric, it's all good :)

Now seriously, I should go sew, I've only got 7 outfits to make before Monday, 6 and a half really, one's almost finished....but crap, look at that, it's 11:30...I think I will just finish that set, then go write some more in my book so I can get that scene out of my head....yeah it's a movie really, but I'm not proficient enough to create a feature film, so I'm just going to write it and let someone read it and hopefully make a movie for me so I can watch it. As long as it is better than those crappy Syfy movies, it'll be great...and no ugly actors/actresses... and him...he can be it ;)

As for non sewing creation junk....I'm a little peeved that this 'certain' ebayer who bought something from me has not paid yet, and most likely won't...really why is it that people bid on items yet do not pay?! Idiots...and to beat it all I can't leave negative feedback for a buyer...so not fair since I'm the one paying the damn ebay fees...*sigh* .... and so this seller won't answer my emails (which are not mean as I feel they should be, btw) but lo and behold he has something for sale that he's happily answering questions about. Lol. Makes me laugh sometimes that people bid on stuff they can't or won't, or decided not to pay for (blaming it on their income or some horseshit like that) really come on now, you either can buy it or not, if you can't afford it, don't bid. I have some serious bills too (mortgage, loan, credit, medical...) but I pay them on time, all the time, and even if we are flat broke, they still end up getting paid on time. AND... if for any major reason you have to back out of the deal, grow a backbone and communicate with the seller. I've had no problem with people asking out of a deal for whatever reason so long as they are up front about it and do not leave me hanging for days waiting for them to answer my emails (or worse yet, giving me excuses! Then backing out later on.)...yeah, well life goes on....this is why I hate ebay at times......believe it or not I can't remember even one incident on etsy that has ever given me trouble...ever... I love etsy, but I can't very well make any money listing stuff on there for 99 cents, lol, now can I...Oh, I could definitely sell it, but only for 99 cents, at least with ebay there's the fun of watching the listings.....have I rambled enough? :)

The never-ending cycle!

Well, my vacation is certainly over, lol. Funny thing is the last day I got bombarded with requests, and when I reactivated my etsy account I sold like 3 sets :)
But that its a good thing!
I managed to get my sewing room painted a pretty light blue and get my fabrics semi-organized....yeah, semi....I really need to use up a lot of them, which I will do as soon as possible....
Which basically means when I'm done with these orders that just came in, and when I'm done making the Graduates Enchanted launch set, and when I'm done making the sets for BWILD's launch too.
Then I can make the rest, lol.

It seems like a LOT!, but I know that once June gets here, orders will come to a complete stop except for a few requests here and there and I can lay out in the sun and work in my garden all summer, just before the hectic, ridiculous, psychotic season of Grinch and Santa fabrics put me in an induced sewing coma of the Christmas season!
It's all good though :) serious fun right there!

Of course in the midst of all the fabrics and emails, we are still working on the house, which includes redoing the living room ceiling, finally putting the molding and trim upstairs, possibly a front porch if finances will allow, and if I can't talk my hubby out of it, a new garage...well, a garage to take the place of the shed, because the motorcycle and lawn mower won't fit in the shed with all the tools and junk we have stored in it.
We also have to manage to fit in the family activities, like the Renn Fest (can't miss that!) a trip to Virginia (yay!) a balloon ride if I can re-locate the info on it (that should be fun) a few camping/hiking/boating trips (hopefully somewhere new) and other small cheap fun junk that we plan on the spur of the moment (always turns out fun, yet expensive!) and maybe, just maybe, I will not pay off a bill and instead take off to somewhere warm and sunny, with clear blue ocean waters...yeah, that'd be nice......ahhh.

Anyways....no pics, I'm saving them for the weekend...when hopefully I'll have that set done!

Just finishing up the last orders and then off to get some real work done!

Including (but not nearly the majority) cleaning, which this house severely needs. Organizing, which this house severely requires. Painting, which must get done before it gets warm outside. Plans, which I need before I can buy supplies for our construction project(s) (or if you will, deconstruction). Shopping...because really if you put in all the work to get the house ...let's say, more finished, you need new stuff to make it worth it, correct :)

Then the long, painful task of completing and crossing out the items on our "things that need done" list.....Mind you this list had over 94 item on it, lol. But only about 75 are important.
Anyone willing to come work is more than welcomed.

Now for the sewing...First off, I will only be making the stuff I already signed up to do (what was I thinking!) then will only have ooaks (one of a kind sets) available for the first part of April. Then maybe if I feel up to it I will list only a limited amount of customs (besides the one set I will only have one custom available)
That one is an enchanted forest set. All knit fabrics, and I really hope it comes out well. But it will be more than what I usually charge (but then again, it will have more on it than I usually make...sooo)

So in the end, when the house looks taken care of, I might have time to finish book 2 I've been writing, play on my assortment of instruments more, and build some furniture. Yeah, good times.
Oh, and maybe work on my new expenditure!!! Though I'll need a scroll saw first...hmmm.

Ya know what....fabric shopping really does make you feel better ;)
Especially when the colors are all bright and random with some black and white mixed in somewhere...really all I have to do is go browse on my favorites over there on etsy and I feel better already. :)
But on a down side they don't let you move around the little listings so you can put them next to each other to see how they look together, that's a bummer, and the fact you can't get them listed in order by seller, not date. That would make it easier for me to buy prints from the same seller.
Anywho, now I'm just bummed because I don't have enough money to buy all of them, lol. But I can get over that :) Friday will be here shortly and I'm sure MaterialGal and Eurogirlsboutique will still have what I'm loathing over.... at least they better, lol. Or I will be sad again....

Ya know what....some days I just feel like giving up, seriously! Just to quit...then after a few days more I'm like "Dude let's go sew something!" Today is one of those days....
There's a few things I wanted to do until I read how impossibly stupid it would be to do them, ya know, things about rules and regulations....things I will not impose on myself or my family. They can stuff it.
Goes right along with the reasons why I homeschool my kids...people are idiots (people in high places who think they can tell you how to run your life or your business...) yeah well, unfortunately for them I will not succumb to their idiotic ways of doing things.....
It's kinda like reading a pattern to make an outfit, after you hack it to pieces and sit there trying to understand why they did it the HARDEST WAY POSSIBLE only to toss it aside and do it your way (which turns out perfectly, btw!) I'm troubled by the fact more than the average amount of the population will sit there and read the instructions for that pattern and do it that way, without thinking for themselves, therefore never realizing that they could've done it quicker, easier, and most likely cheaper if they just used their own common sense.
Ok not all things are like that, but a lot of things are...I'm just saying.
Another example that struck my recently was learning to read sheet music for the violin...whatever way they were doing it was so freakin complicated I thought I was in high school again, sitting in class thinking how obvious it was that was being hindered just by being there.... Well, the whole stupid book that teaches you was doing it the hard way. And I'm talking seriously hard, to where they were teaching useless things and of course not even explaining what it was they were saying.
But thankfully a simple poster saved me from selling that violin, see the poster simply pointed out what not went where, all you had to do was look at the note and look where to put your fingers...easy peasy. Within an hour or 2 I could read music.

Well, anyway today I'm just bummed. I did get a skirt made and half another outfit, and I finished all but one applique on a pair of jeans, but for some reason I don't feel thrilled except for the fact I can possible get them all done and shipped by Friday, which would be nice because I think I need to take a break.

Maybe talk my hubby into finding some money somewhere to install a new central heat and air unit, because we are at the mercy of using a wood burning heater, which is nice and warm, and free!! but makes my house smell like smoke....ugh I'm sorry really really sorry, hubby is cheap and we are not rich enough to buy a unit for a 1800 sq ft house.

I so want to go hide in a hole till spring.

One Little Mermaid Ariel set is finished and on it's way to be modeled, as well as the candy apple set, and Minnie set, and another set, and will have 3 more going out by the end of the week! Yes, I am on a roll!!

In other news, Mr O'Malley (my little leprechaun) just had his clothing made up today...yes I know I should be working on my orders instead of playing with a little doll...but what fun is that?! Lol, I work better when I'm rushed anyway, I'll still have those orders shipped within the week ;)
Anyway, after I get him to look like a boy (because he still looks like a girl doll, lol) and glue some of his red hair on his face for a beard I'll show you all some pictures of the little guy.

And I think I just made the decision not to wait for anyone anymore....seems doing it yourself on your own terms really is the way to go.....so keep your ears open and listen, because when I get some more funding (that means money in my paypal account) I'm going to be purchasing future improvements :) I'll tell you what that means later, it's a secret!!

Oh, and I got my little swatch in from spoonflower fabrics with my logo on it, even tried a few out already and they look really great actually! If they happen to live through the washing machine and dryer I will be getting more to label my items (who can beat 500 labels for $18?!!! uh, no one!! I looked! Lol) so keeping my fingers crossed they wash/dry well!

If there was more time in the day and I spent less time on this blasted computer I may have gotten those guitar set pics a little earlier, lol.... we are still working on getting them done though, they will just have to wait until after dinner.

My Candy Apple set is headed to my model tomorrow, and will be listed with the Serendipity Boutique Eye Candy launch which starts on March 1st..... I of course will give you all full peeks at the entire set and you can order before I list it (which saves us both from unnecessary fees btw!)

It's snowing!!! YAY!!!
I love snow when it's real snow you can play in, though can't stand it if it's just falling (unless you're driving through it on the freeway at night time, now that's cool!) Anyway, tonight I'm sure we'll have at least 8 or more inches to build some unimaginable creature with it and post it at the foot of our driveway (Ya know, to freak the neighbors ;) )!!

Other info that may interest you....hmmm.....think pink and green and bunches of ruffles and trims and tulle.....and Candied Apples ;) ....yeah, that's something in creation at the moment. I will finish it tomorrow or over the weekend, but I'm not going to show you any sneak peeks of it until I get the modeled pics in......unless you ask kindly (more like beg) then maybe...just maybe....

A fun spring set will be next on my to do list and something fun with Ariel the Little Mermaid. A 4 piece set more than likely, so better keep checking back
These secrets only pop out once in a awhile (or when I'm bored and forget that's it's a secret....or when I'm too excited not to share) But check back anyway and have fun reading my annoying, talking about nothing posts, which drive you to continue to read on and on hoping for some kind of words that say free or giveaway, or something that says something along the lines of if you post the word hippopatumus on the facebook fan page you might win something....but other than that there's really nothing more interesting to say...but in any case I still got you to read this....

As for some non exciting news, I'll be making some leprechaun clothing on Monday while I'm sitting idle at the kids school group, that is sure to be a conversation starter....lol.

Oh dear! I thought to myself as I pictures a crazy beautiful amazing logo in my head.... I loved it and now it's stuck there. Yeah I could paint it (on a wall) but on a computer, most likely not...ugh
Maybe if I had time to teach myself I could accomplish such a task, but me? time? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!...man I'm crying myself silly.

I will try and most likely will fail miserably in redoing my logo/blog/templates/etc... I am not a tech html genius, nor do I own a digital program such as Photoshop.... be prepared to laugh (that is if I'm brave enough to show you my feeble attempt, lol).

In other news, I'm on the hunt for some local models to help me out... I have some wonderful models who live far away that I will be sending items out to, but for an upcoming project for spring I will need local around town models...ages 1 and up to about 8-10
I need to go find some willing to take pictures for my new adventure....

Otherwise, I'm working working working!! Minnie set is almost done, Guitar sets are done except for one shirt(ack, and the petticoat, waiting on the mail!), and I have a few orders I need to complete and ship out.
Then a Cinderella set, Ariel, set, Some spring sets, might do an Easter set...maybe...I usually always skip Easter, last year I made a set, but only sold the sample...just a holiday I wish wasn't so ruined by consumerism.... :( Really, all the fluffy bunnies and eggs makes me dizzy.
I feel better just by thinking I will skip Easter sets and just do spring/summer/Disney

As for other useless news.... my leprechaun still needs his clothes made, but I bought his cage the other day ;) now if I could only find a mini lounge chair, a mini goblet for his rum, and maybe an old vintage bunny ears and all tv (gotta give him something to do besides talk to me!) Yeah...he's gonna be great!

Finally bought that chiffon I needed, and thankfully prevented myself from buying other fabrics, lol. It was hard, yes it was.
And I'm afraid I deleted a whole bunch of stuff I had favorited and won't be buying it, sorry sellers. Though I do have a select few I kept which I still love and if all goes well and I still love them at the end of the week, I will be getting as well. :)

I'm feeling a tad bit creative.... (actually I'm about to explode with creativity!)
Tomorrow is Tuesday which is in fact the first day of my work week, since Monday's are spent at the kid's homeschooling classes....well, actually Sunday would be first..but I don't count that, that's supposed to be a day of rest, right? (Rest?? WTH is that? Do I need that?)

Tomorrow I'm going to start on some new Disney sets and finally cut into some BEAUTIFUL AWESOME fabric I bought about a month ago for a spring set!
And finish up another set that's just patiently waiting on the side. And maybe start another Half of it anyway, since I can't finish it until I order that black chiffon I need to buy (which I still haven't bought, but going to....if I can keep myself from buying the listing next to it). Lol....I told you I have a fabric addiction :)

Anyway, I sketched some pics of what I will be making (unless I change my mind) which include a fun Minnie set, possible a way over-the-top Cinderella princess set. An Ariel set which looks so cute on paper and in my mind, btw! And I really really want to do some Toy Story stuff for gorls and boys, but I'm still working out what I want them to look like.....
Ideas for my Toy Story sets include..... 1) A fun green and blue twirl skirt set with green underskirt...those cute Buzz Lightyear aliens on it. A halter to match, though not sure what to put on it???
Maybe a Woody twirl set with the cow print fabric, maybe the horse and some rope/hat/accessories on the skirt part...but maybe not, idk...
For a boys set, I want it insanely crowded and colorful... not just a few appliques here and there, I'm talking a few pieces of clothing showing out from behind all the appliques, lol. Maybe all Buzz with aliens, rockets, etc., etc., etc......and/or do a complete TS set with Woddy and Buzz on the top, and more characters on the pants/shorts......
Yeah those sound fun..... and luckily I have a model on hand to get me some pics! And most likely he won't want to keep them so I can sell them to you guys for a low price on the sample set ;) ....that is unless he likes them and does wear them...then you're just out of luck until he outgrows them...and assuming they are in resellable condition afterward, you get them for dirt cheap.

Okay, so the title reads...OH NO!!!!
If you're wondering what exactly that means, it's plainly the fact that I went to etsy.com
What's on etsy.com you ask, besides people's handmade junk...well, to put it simply....my addiction....- FABRIC!
So there I am simply looking for the rolls of nylon chiffon I need for a petti skirt. Along with the fact I like to stop by my favorites page to double check nothing was lost (I would freak out!!) since I love to look more than buy ;)
Well, I like to watch, and if I can't stop wanting it after so long I buy it kinda stuff, lol.
Anyway, back to the point. So I clicked on one of my favorited fabric listings to relook, and well, those little boxes on the left that shows what else the seller has showed me something else "neat" and so I went to there, so on and so forth and now I found at least another 5 prints I LOVE!!!! OMG!!!
I just can't seem to keep away from it, lol.
The only reason I haven't bought anything yet is the fact my paypal account only has maybe $15 left in it (which will be spent on shipping labels) So I have no money at the moment to spend on the "coolest fabrics ever" that I discovered today.

Then I had the thought of selling my "no longer that cool to me" fabrics, which in then turn I could buy the ones I LOVE!!!
Even if I sold 10 yards only to buy 5 that would be great!
So who wants fabric?!

I'm going to post pics tomorrow (unless I forget or don't get time to do it)
I need them gone, so they will be CHEAP!!!
Better yet if you like a print and want something made out of it, I can do that too, for CHEAP!!

Well, I've decided (and don't hold me to this as my mind changes with how I feel, which happens to be constantly) to expand a bit.

First off I need to rework this blog and write more, post more pics, share more stuff that I do, even if I don't plan to sell it. Need a new picture too.....and here comes the "Dang I wish I could make graphics" saying that peals in my head every time I see such cool looking blogs or whatnot. Makes mine look so-so.

Well, anyways.....I'll get to that right after I finish everything else that seems to demand more of my attention, unless I forget or change my mind, or anything else happens that prevents me from doing such.
Of course I'm always making stuff...even if I end up throwing it away (because some things just don't match up compared to the vision I had of them in my high-def mind). My latest recent projects include making a freaky little leprechaun. Yes, a leprechaun, one of those green guys from Ireland that supposedly has gold.
I got this idea of his creation while visiting ChristmasTown at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA....blame Ireland Town and all that fancy celtic music (which I love by the way!)
So this leprechaun, the idea is to make it (well, the rest of it since I've already started!)....and sell it on Etsy...though I'm really hoping that it will make it's debut on Regretsy.com ...since it's going to end up as one of those whimsical *uckery's they seem to devour over there. And of course mr. leprechaun (who hasn't recieved his name yet) is anatomically correct ;)
Well, correct enough to get the idea, though the sewing craft was quite messy and unprofessional....so sue me.

So, going to sell that little guy and if not, I can tuck him away in the shed and one day when I have grandchildren, let them find it and tell them a fancy story I will surely hopefully remember by then about when I caught me a leprechaun.....

Really now, enough of my lame ranting, you want to hear about clothing? Right? Working on that too....posting stuff here and there, on etsy, ebay, facebook, and here. Browse around, as I won't post everything I list or made on every page I'm supposedly the operator of....I'm a stay-at-home-mom who works and homeschools...I don't have time for such fun (hahaha yeah right!) copy and paste on all these boards adventures....I'd much rather play bejeweled on facebook and rightfully make sure no one is ever able to think they could ever beat my score ;)

So go look for me everywhere!!!!

As for other projects, I'm planning on doing some room decor as well!!! Which is really exciting to me for some reason!! Can't wait to find something I can work with....that or talk hubby into getting me a scroll saw...which I will buy after income taxes if I can't find a cheap one before then....because I've got stuff to make!!!
One of those things you can't get out of your head until it's complete sorta things.....reminds me of a saying I read off one of Hobby Lobby's weekly newsletter ads a few weeks ago.... (yes, unfortunately I retain imformation off the most craziest sources!)
"Never give up on something you can't go one day without thinking about."....I can't remember who said it, but that was it (or close enough to it). Yeah, that's so me....and that's also why I feel like I'm going crazy, sinceI've got so much going on in my head, yet only so much time in the day to get it out!

Thought I'd drop a line :)
I have some premade sets ready, but need to get pics and all that fun stuff ready (sorry I'm slow), but I'll get them listed hopefully tomorrow (or at least pics posted by then!) Keep a look out!

On another note, I've been working on new sets that will be customs, though won't be available until later, as they will be sent out to be modeled. Of course I will post sneak peeks ;)

BTW: I have one thing available on etsy as a custom tee, and that is for Tinkerbell. Any size (2t-8), any pose, all same price. Grab it while it's good :)

Just updating everyone on some upcoming changes.
#1 - Anything I list will only be found on ebay. I will no longer be using etsy or myspace store unless some unforeseen circumstance forces me to.
#2 - The auctions I have listed this week...ending in a day an a half....will be the last of my custom auctions until September for Christmas sets.
#3 - If anyone wants custom items, they will need to request it through email or any listing I have up, I will not be listing any customs until the holiday season.
#4 - I will no longer be offering free shipping, unless you are a return customer and do not require that I set up a private auction. Ebay is expensive....so is the postal service.
#5 - Everything I do list between now and September will all be one of a kind items. Pre-made outfits ranging from 18 months to 8, girls and boys. Most likely none of them will be able to be recreated. I will post here when I list them.

There will be some more 'news' when I have everything in place, but this is it for now. :)

I got a new computer!!! Yay!! So of course, lucky me gets to reset all my bookmarks and such...no time for sewing!

I've been thinking, considering how slow the economy has been, what would boutique buyers like to see?

New Disney sets that I recently brought into this world.

I seriously have been considering not listing custom made auctions anymore, though will always make them through requests, so if you never see these listed, that's why. For some strange reason I can sell premade sets quite easily, while the custom auctions do not sell at all. Sometimes the premade sets sell for more than what I would charge for a custom and it just boggles my mind.
Anyway, here's a few new ones, let me know what you think!
And thank you Melanie for keeping me busy these past weeks :)
